The life simulation video game is set to receive a new update on Thursday (23.04.20) that will bring two new merchants and an expansion for the museum, Nintendo has confirmed.
New additions include Leif, a sloth who will run a garden stall, and Redd, the fox and art dealer who sells paintings, sculpture, and furniture.
Leif’s Garden Shop will sell shrubs and flower seeds, and will be found in the plaza similar to other occasional visitors such as Kicks, the shoe and bag seller.
Redd will be found on occasions at players’ “secret beaches”, where he will sell in-game art that can be donated to the museum, which will be expanded to include a brand new art gallery.
The new merchants coincide with the launch of the game’s latest event, Nature Day, which runs from April 23 to May 4, and will see players receive rewards for completing nature-inspired goals, such as planting trees and watering flowers.
Nintendo has also confirmed three more events that are due to take place in the coming weeks and months.
Between May 1 and 7, the game will celebrate the May Day Tour event, which will see players use a one-time May Day Ticket at the island airport to head out to a limited-time island that looks different to the usual mystery island tours.
Later in May, between the 18th and 31st, players can celebrate International Museum Day, where they will be able to participate in a Stamp Rally to collect stamps from the exhibits in their museum.
And for the entire month of June, ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ will host Wedding Season, where players can visit Harvey’s island to meet the married couple Reese and Cyrus, as well as help arrange and take anniversary photos with them in the wedding-picture studio.
