Microsoft is cutting Cortana from Xbox One.
The virtual assistant will still be available to use but via the Xbox Skill on the Cortana app on iOS, Android or Windows.
The move comes after the firm said they want to avoid “on-console experiences to cloud-based assistant experiences”.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is embracing a community hack used to save money on the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The company’s new all-in-one service – which combines a Game Pass subscription with Xbox Live Gold as a cheaper alternative for users who want both – was made available for the first month at just £1 instead of £10.99
However, it also emerged that those who already had either subscription could also upgrade for the same cheap price.
This would mean that any remaining months of an existing subscription would automatically get upgraded and remain at the current price until the period expired.
Microsoft hasn’t tried to limit the savings down to the process, and while the “lifehack” will only be available for a limited period, the company has even written a guide on the official Xbox blog.
The gaming giant explained:
“If you have an existing Xbox Live Gold subscription, whatever remaining time you have left on your Gold subscription automatically gets converted into Game Pass Ultimate when you apply the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate [£1] offer to your Microsoft account.
“As an example, if you have 6 months of Xbox Live Gold and 3 months of Xbox Game Pass on your account, upgrading with the [$1] upgrade will give you a total of 10 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.”
