The upcoming PC and console strategy game was originally due to launch in spring 2020, but developer Romero Games has now confirmed its release has been pushed back into the autumn so they can get it right.
In an announcement on Twitter, director Brenda Romero said:
“As any good bootlegger knows, good liquor can’t be rushed and the same goes for game development.
“This is why we have decided to move the release of ‘Empire of Sin’ to Fall 2020.
“We appreciate all your support so far, and trust that you understand why choosing quality over speed is important. After all, everyone knows you gotta stay sharp to make it in Chicago.”
The game – which will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC – is set in 1920s Chicago and tasks players with building a crime family to take down the other 14 dynasties in the city.
It will feature tactical XCOM-style turn-based combat as well as other strategy elements which see you build up your family’s infuence, reputation, cash and weapon reserves.
