The social media giant has decided to move their games over because they are working to keep the messaging side “faster and simpler”.
Leo Olebe, Global Director of Games Partnerships at Facebook, said:
“With our focus on creating a central Instant Games experience on Facebook, and as Messenger moves to be faster, lighter and simpler, we we recently started migrating Instant Game play sessions from Messenger to Facebook and the Facebook Gaming tab.”
Instant Games arrived on Messenger in 2016 and features titles such as ‘Pac-Man’ and ‘Frenzy’.
On what to expect, Leo added:
“To ensure a smooth transition, players in Messenger will continue to access games through thread updates and chatbots, while gameplay itself will app switch to Facebook.”
