Former PlayStation boss Adam Boyes doesn’t miss the “console wars”.

The executive – who served as vice president for third-party relations for four years until 2016 – loved his job and the team at Sony, but there was also “so much stress” involved when it came to competing with Microsoft, which the two sides will be feeling as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X launch later this year.
He told USgamer:
“Sometimes I feel like I have an opinion, but it doesn’t matter because I did that.
“I put in my all. I loved it. Built an incredible team, had an incredible experience. […] So you think that I would have a FOMO that I’m not part of it, but it really isn’t.
“There was so much stress and I think the whole console battle concept, it takes you over. It’s like, that’s all you think about.”
Boyes was an executive at PlayStation when the PS4 launched in 2013, and is now in charge as the CEO of Iron Galaxy studios.
The company is know for working on projects like the Switch versions of ‘Skyrim’, ‘Overwatch’ and ‘Diablo III’, while they have also developed their own original titles like 2018’s ‘Extinction
