Epic Games confirmed the hugely popular Battle Royale title would be taken offline, but thankfully for players the servers were back up and running around two hours later.
The downtime occurred so the studio could implement the new patch 12.21, which is now available to download.
However, Epic Games has unfortunately stopped sharing patch notes – although it’s likely to have focused on fixing performance issues from new features added in the 12.20 update.
No big changes or new items are expected from the new patch with it being a .01 update, but it’s good to see the studio still committed to the game as more players than ever are logging on.
With schools losing around the world, there has been an increase in ‘Fortnite’ and ‘Call of Duty’ gamers, and it has already had an impact on internet traffic in Italy.
The second season of ‘Fortnite Chapter 2’ is set to continue in April, so users can expect more content and updates in the meantime.
