After a recent period of some downtime, the hugely popular battle royale game is back online – and it’s gone one step further than simply transition into a new season.
Now, the title has pushed into the first season of the second chapter – which run until December 12 – with a whole host of changes in store.
The most notable update here is the new map, which does feature some landmark from the original battleground – including Pleasant Park and Retail Row – although adjustments have been made the layout with previous locations repurposed.
However, the fresh design does put a much larger emphasis on water, with interconnected rivers, lakes and beaches changing tactics with potential escape routes now at risk of being blocked off.
For anyone not wanting to glide over or swim across the water, chapter two has introduced a boat.
In another change, water also gives players the opportunity to acquire resources instead of just being navigational obstacle.
Armed with a fishing rod, gamers can try and hook some loo, ranging from epic-tier weapons to fish with magical healing powers.
Fishing will also help users to level up in the season’s battle pass.
