A teenager has won $2.25 million (£1.8 million) by coming second in the ‘Fortnite World Cup’ final on Sunday (28.07.19).

Jaden Ashman, from Essex, England, aged just 15 – who goes by the player name Wolfiez, was left “stunned” after winning the mega sum and he’s going to share his winnings with Dutch playing partner, Dave Jong, who goes by the name Rojo.

The pair beat Norway’s Emil Bergquist Pedersen and Austrian David W, Nyhrox and Aqua respectively in the game, who won with 51 points and took home $3 million (£2.4 million) between them, just four points off Jaden and Dave’s score.

Speaking to BBC News, Jaden admitted:

“It hasn’t really hit me yet, like what’s going on, probably when I get back home, It’s going to be like insane.”

Asked what he’s going to do with his half, Jaden replied:

“I am probably going to try and save most of it.

“I know it sounds a bit cliche but save maybe like half of it and put quite a lot of it into a house and my family.”

It’s a miracle Jaden has even been able to play ‘Fortnite’ as his mum, Lisa Dallman, was “against” him gaming and even “threw out” one his consoles.

She said:

“It’s not been a straightforward journey with Jaden, if I am honest with you I’ve been quite against his gaming.

“I’ve been pushing him more to his school work.

“I’ve actually thrown an Xbox out, snapped a headset, we’ve had a nightmare.”

A total of 40 million players worldwide tried to qualify for the final over 10 weeks.
