The news comes after it was Toyota is finally coming to the fourth instalment.
The world’s largest car manufacturer has been underrepresented in the series having been scarce in ‘Forza Motorsport 7’ as well as the most recent 2018 title, but that looks set to change.
As of December 12, ‘Forza’ is set to feature a Toyota street racing car as the 1998 Supra RZ comes to the game as part of the upcoming Series 17 update.
In a Twitter statement, ‘Forza Motorsport’ revealed:
“Forza and Toyota have joined forces once again!
“It all starts on December 12th when #ForzaHorizon4 players can get behind the wheel of the 1998 Toyota SUpra RZ as part of the Series 17 update.”
So far, there is no mention of whether the car will be available as paid DLC or how much it will cost to access in-game, while it’s hoped other models will follow in the near future.
Initially, the game only contained three Toyota vehicles and none of them are street racers (Land Cruiser Arctic Truck AT37 and AT37, and the T100 Baja Truck).
In a developer livestream, it’s been confirmed there is a new agreement between both parties to bring the manufacturer’s cars to the game franchise “for years to come”.
This will include the return of Lexus models to the series too, with Toyota owning the brand.
