The first-person shooter game was developed by 343 Industries for the Xbox back in 2007, but a remastered version of the game is coming to PC systems, and will begin beta testing in mid-June.

Community manager John Junyszek confirmed the news on Twitter, where he also revealed there would be an update about the beta tests, or “flights”, from 343 Industries on Friday (29.05.20).

According to GameSpot, the beta tests for ‘Halo 3’ will start off small, with “Ring 1” testers who will work closely with the developer to find any issues or bugs with the game so far.

After that, future beta tests will be available for members of the Halo Insider program, which is free to sign up for.

‘Halo 3’ is being re-released for PC as part of the ‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection’, which will see all of the franchise’s original releases get reworked for Windows PCs.

343 Industries recently released ‘Halo 2 Anniversary’ for the PC, but the launch didn’t go entirely to plan, as it was marred with issues.

Thankfully, the developers soon released a patch to address the issues, but they will no doubt be hoping the ‘Halo 3’ beta test finds the issues before the game is officially released.

Meanwhile, another team within 343 Industries is currently working on ‘Halo Infinite’ for release later this year as the launch title for the new Xbox Series X.
