‘Pokemon GO’ will add online battles in 2020, Niantic has announced.

Developers Niantic announced that players of the mobile game will be able to play against gamers around the world when the battles launch online early next year.
They announced on Twitter:
“Are you a #GOBattle champion among your group of friends, Trainer? How about compared to the rest of the world?
The time to prove yourself is coming.
GO Battle League
Coming soon in early 2020… (sic)”
The ‘Go Battle League’ follows the introduction of the Trainer Battles which launched last year, enabling challenges between games nearby.
