The Microsoft executive has responded on social media after a customer called on the team to make it possible to pick and choose which games will be auto-updated.
Tweeting Spencer directly, the fan wrote:
“Hey @XboxP3 can we get a feature to pick and choose what games get auto updated?
“My ISP like many others have a data cap so the auto update is turned off. Now I have to wait 2 hours for 1 update, no gaming tonight.”
The Xbox chief was clearly impressed with the suggestion – despite having his own way of working around the issue – and confirmed he’ll be passing the idea onto the team.
He responded:
“This is a good feature idea.
“I usually uninstall things I don’t want updated (and leave the game pinned if I want to come back to it) but I like being able to mark installed games that I don’t want updated until I launch them.
“I’ll forward to the team. Thanks.”
While Spencer responded publicly, it should be noted there is still no guarantee this feature will ever actually appear, although it’s encouraging he’s willing to consider it.
